Gripping Tales: Smith & Hemenway, New York City

I found these duckbill pliers in a rusty state at the bottom of a box of stuff I picked up at a yard sale this weekend.

The company was founded in 1898 in New York City, and was closely associated with the Irvington Manufacturing Company of Irvington, New Jersey, which made pliers and other tools.  Crescent Tools acquired the firm in 1926 but continued with the S&H line for several years.
